PRODUCT INFO
A typical Bayonet stand consists of either the 5 x 7 x .75", or larger 7 x 9 x .75" wood stand, or plaque.
THE PLAQUES:The wood is a knotty pine variety that has many different grain patterns. I offer two colored stain finishes;
1) A Black Top w/ wood grain sides. I try to use plaques that have little to none of the knots or grain patterns for this finish. It's a more formal finishthat works well with German dress or combat bayonets, or Mauser type bayonets in general. I think it also works well with the following bayonets*: Any of the British Socket bayonets, The Japanese Type 30, British P1907 and 1913.
The plaques with distinct knots & grain patterns are used for the OWC finish which is a custom finish of a Mahogany type that provides a more rustic pattern. Some of the OWC can have really rough, but beautiful faults that go well with the bayonet stands. These are definitely less formal and therefore work well with the civil war and other socket bayonets, as well as combat worn German Bayonets, and the World War I long blade bayonets. * These suggestions are truly to my own tastes and honestly both finishes go well with all the stands.
Each plaque receives 2 coats of stain, 2 brushed on coats of polyutethane and a sprayed coat of polyurethane for long lasting protection.
HARDWARE:
BAYONET STANDS: Your stand assembly comes with one finished plauqe with 4 felt feet for protection, a Barrel stand or lug for mounting your bayonet, depending on your order, a 3/8" wood dowel for barrel stands, a scabbard holder (For BAYO-II Stands), 2 - 2.5 x 10mm black, phillips head mounting screws for the bayonet stand and 2 more if the Scabbard is ordered. The only tool required for assembly is a screwdriver for smaller screws.
Barrel Stands: The barrel stands are made of 3D printed plastic filament either PLA or PETG. They will break if put under enough stress. They are spray painted with a black primer paint.
The bayonet affixes to the lug on the barrel stand and locks into place when you operate the press stud while pushing down. You need to operate the press stud to remove the bayonet as well.
The same applies for the bayonet regular and angled lugs.
